A woman taking a walk found a sneaker with a human foot inside under some sea grass at Peck Lake Park on the north end of Jupiter Island.
Martin County Sheriff's deputies, air units and dogs searched the park on New Year's Day, but didn't find any other remains.
Sheriff's spokeswoman Christine Weiss told the Palm Beach Post that the foot was taken to a crime lab. She says the sheriff's office is working with other agencies to determine whether there are any missing persons in the area.
The woman made the discovery around noon on Wednesday.
No further details were immediately available.

And then I did a little research and found this:
Apparently, this happens a lot. As of January 26, 2012, ten or eleven feet have been found in Canada, and three in the US State of Washington.
Reminds me of the **wha??** factor of seeing a shoe in the road...
And I have a feeling Stephen King is all over this.
